【摘要】:ISO20776-1:2006describesonereferencemethod,brothmicrodilution,fordeterminationofMICs.TheMICreflectstheactivityofthedrugunderthedescribedtestconditions,andcanbeinterpretedforclinicalmanagementpurposesbytakingintoaccountotherfactors,suchasdrugpharmacologyorbacterialresistancemechanisms.Thisallowscategorizationofbacteriaassusceptible(S),intermediate(I),orresistant(R).Inaddition,MICdistributionscanbeusedtodefinewildtypeornon-wildtypebacterialpopulations.AlthoughclinicalinterpretationoftheMICvalueisbeyondthescopeofISO20776-1:2006,modificationsofthebasicmethodarerequiredforcertainantimicrobialagent-bacteriacombinationstofacilitateclinicalinterpretation.Thesemodificationsareincludedinaseparatetable.Itisadvisabletocompareothersusceptibilitytestingmethods(e.g.routinemethodsordiagnostictestdevices)withthisreferencemethodforvalidation,inordertoensurecomparableandreliableresults.
