【摘要】:Thistestmethodwillallowcomparisonsofthecombustioncharacteristicsofvariousmetallicmaterials.Thecombustioncharacteristicsthatcanbeevaluatedinclude(1)thresholdpressureand(2)averageregressionrate(apparentburnrate)ofthesample.1.1Thistestmethodcoversatestapparatusandtechniquetodeterminetheminimumtestgaspressurethatsupportsself-sustainedcombustion(thethresholdpressure)andtheaverageregressionrate(apparentburnrate)ofastandardizedsampleofametallicmaterialthathasbeenignitedusingastrongpromoter.1.2Thedataobtainedfromthistestmethodaredependentontheprecisetestsampleconfigurationandprovideabasisforcomparingthecombustionbehaviorofmaterials.Nocriteriaareimpliedforrelatingthesedatatothesuitabilityofamaterial''suseinanyactualsystem.TheapplicationofdataobtainedfromthistestmethodisdiscussedinGuidesG88andG94.1.3Requirementsforanapparatussuitableforthistestmethodaregiven,aswellasanexampleofsuchanapparatus.Theexample,however,isnotrequiredtobeused.1.4Thistestmethodisforgaseousoxygenoranymixtureofoxygenwithdiluentsthatwillsupportcombustion,atanypressurewithinthecapabilitiesoftheapparatus.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSection9.
