【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardisapplicabletoheavy-dutyroadvehicleenginessubjecttoregulationsasregardstheirexhaustemissionsatthetimeoftheircertification.Mopeds,motorcycles,passengercarsandnon-roadvehiclesarenotwithinitsscope.ThisInternationalStandarddefinesthecriteriamakingitpossibletogroupthoseenginesofthesamemanufacturerhaving,bydesign,similarregulatedexhaustemissioncharacteristics(gaseousandparticulatepollutants,aswellassmoke)withinafamilyorfamilies.Itdefinestheparametersnecessitatingthecarryingoutofdifferentgroupings,leavingopentothemanufacturerthelatitudetocarryoutgroupingsoflowersize.ThisInternationalStandarddefinestheprocedureforselectingfromwithineachenginefamilytheparentengine,thespecificcharacteristicsofwhichwillprobablymakeitmoredifficulttoproducealowlevelofexhaustemissions.
